How your age is calculated
Your age in years goes up by one on each birthday. To get the exact age, we count the full years since you were born, then the full months since your last birthday, then the remaining days. If the day of the month hasn't come yet, we borrow the number of days in the previous month. For example, someone born on September 10, 1995 is 30 years, 11 months and 30 days old on September 9, 2026, and turns 31 the next day.
If you were born on February 29, your birthday is counted as March 1 in years that aren't leap years. All dates are calendar dates, so the result doesn't depend on your time zone.
What is Korean age?
Traditionally, Koreans counted a newborn as 1 year old and added a year to everyone's age on New Year's Day, so Korean age is usually one or two years more than international age. Since June 28, 2023, South Korea officially uses international age in laws and documents, but you may still hear the traditional count in everyday conversation. Korean age is simply current year − birth year + 1.

FAQ
How do I calculate my age in my head?
Subtract your birth year from the current year. If your birthday hasn't happened yet this year, subtract one more.
Can I find my age on a past or future date?
Yes. Change “Age on this date” to any date to see how old you were or will be on that day.
Is my date of birth stored?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser, and nothing you enter is sent to a server.
